Fiber Pro Mfg, LLC was founded in 2011 in response to a problem clients had with heat and fumes damaging fiber optics when used with pyrometers in heat tempering applications. We designed a simple 2-piece part containing a replaceable quartz window which protects the fiber optics and eliminated damage. Known as a FOMAQ, it is promoted by a major manufacturer of pyrometers as a standard part. The FOMAQ is now specified for use with fiber optic pyrometers worldwide.
Later a major manufacturer of flame safeguard equipment, Fireye, changed their quartz sealing union design from galvanized iron to aluminum. We were contacted and asked if we could manufacture a similar part that would embrace the same ease of use as the original. We responded with a quartz sealing union that not only met our customers’ expectations, but improved on the original design. Our quartz sealing unions are available in the original galvanized iron, black iron and 316 Stainless Steel. To further enhance the product, we made the internal parts to the same dimensions as the original Fireye union, thus offering parts for the older design that were discontinued by Fireye.
We offer quartz windows for our sealing unions as a spare part or as a maintenance item. Custom windows manufactured from quartz, fused silica, borosilicate (Pyrex), sapphire and more in custom sizes are also available.
